What a performance by your Big Boom Filly Hillary yesterday in the Schweppes Class 1 Hcp over 1350m at Ipswich. Hillary led them from barrier to box and was simply Too Big and Too Strong for them in the Straight.
Your Filly jumped okay from wide Barrier and Boris rode her to instructions and let her slide over to assume the pace making role. Fortunately Teagan Harrison on "Loves a Lottery" elected not to take us on in the lead which allowed Boris to get Hillary into a lovely rhythm. Your Filly travelled beautifully for Boris and when he slipped her some reign at the top of the straight she showed a good turn of foot and never looked in any doubt, coasting to the line to win by a comfortable 1 1/2 Lengths.
Craig presented Hillary in tip top condition and it showed in her race day performance. Equally our jockey Boris rode Hillary an absolute treat and we take our hats off to both for all their efforts and hard work. Craig was excited after the race and said it panned out exactly how we wanted it too. "The filly had fitness on her side and was just too strong for them". It was a great win and we should all be proud of her winning efforts yesterday.
We are pleased to report Hillary has pulled up okay this morning but we have decided to tip her out for a short let-up at Golden Gully. She will only spend three to four weeks up at the farm and will really appreciate the break. As we have stated previously this girl is still growing and maturing each prep and this is a perfect opportunity to give her a few weeks to let down and enjoy being a horse.
We feel this short break is in the best interest of Hillary and as always the horse comes first and is always at the forefront of our decision making process. The shortbreak will also allow us to target some of the QTIS Races near the end of the season when she returns.
So Team, a huge congratulations again for your win yesterday. Well done!! Was a fantastic result! A big Thank you to all of the owners that attended to watch Hillary go around. We really enjoyed catching up with you all and hope you guys had an awesome day!!
Was also great to see the new BOOM Racing Colours thunder down the straight and in the winners circle for the first time, especially with this Boom Filly!!
